Remmert & Company Brings Commercial Construction Expertise to the Multifamily Market

For decades, Remmert & Company has helped build the places where people work, learn, heal, and gather through commercial construction support and architectural millwork across the Southeast.

Now, the company is bringing that same approach into a new space with the launch of a multifamily division focused on delivering turnkey interior solutions for apartment developments, student housing, senior living communities, build-to-rent projects, and other large-scale residential developments.

The expansion comes at a time when many owners, developers, and general contractors are looking for partners who can simplify complex interior scopes through a single point of accountability while maintaining schedule, coordination, and execution throughout construction.

The new division will be led by Thomas Hugghins, who joined Remmert to help grow the company’s presence in the multifamily market.

While the division represents a new area of focus, company leadership sees it as a natural extension of Remmert’s long-standing approach to managing complex projects, coordinating multiple interior scopes, and helping construction teams simplify project delivery.

According to Hugghins, the opportunity comes at a time when developers and contractors are searching for partners who can provide dependable execution alongside quality interior solutions.

“There’s a huge need for reliable partners who can manage cabinetry, countertops, architectural millwork, and interior finishes under one scope,” Hugghins said. “General contractors want somebody who owns their trade and helps keep projects moving. The product matters, but execution is what protects the schedule.”

The division will initially focus on projects with 100 or more units throughout the Southeast, including apartment communities, student housing, senior living developments, build-to-rent neighborhoods, and other multifamily housing projects.

By coordinating cabinetry, countertops, architectural millwork, finish carpentry, and other interior scopes through one accountable partner, Remmert aims to simplify one of the most complex phases of multifamily construction for developers and general contractors.

Rather than positioning itself as another cabinet supplier, Remmert is focused on delivering coordinated interior solutions backed by proactive planning, project management, and a single point of accountability from budgeting through project closeout.

“Our goal is to simplify a scope that can become incredibly complex,” said Hugghins. “When hundreds of units, deliveries, installers, and schedules all have to stay aligned, strong coordination becomes just as important as the product itself. We want to help our customers protect the schedule, reduce friction, and have a single point of accountability.”

The company believes its decades of commercial construction experience provide a strong foundation for serving the multifamily market, where communication, coordination, and logistical oversight often determine whether projects stay on schedule.

“We’ve been managing large, complex projects for a very long time,” Hugghins said. “There are a lot of moving parts and a lot of coordination that has to happen in multifamily. That’s where we believe Remmert has a huge advantage.”

As the division continues to grow, Remmert plans to build long-term relationships with multifamily developers and general contractors throughout the Southeast while expanding its turnkey interior solutions for large-scale residential construction.
